American Strong Ale

This is a group of “strong” beers with alcohol content from 7% ABV or more, some even reaching 20%. Therefore, the color, aroma and flavor are very diverse, difficult to frame in a fixed standard. Some versions are similar to Barleywine or Old Ale, both rich and complex. It is not uncommon for these beers to be aged in wooden barrels, adding a deep and unique flavor layer.
