Czech Amber Lager is a type of Czech lager with a deep amber to copper color, somewhere between a light pilsner and a dark lager. The appeal of this style lies in its prominent malt notes: you can detect hints of toasted bread, biscuit, crust, sometimes a light caramel, yet the beer retains the clean, crisp feel of a lager.
Compared to many other amber lagers, Czech Amber Lager often has added herbal hop notes, light floral or slightly spicy Czech hop-like undertones. Therefore, the beer not only has a pleasant malt flavor but also a clean bitterness, which helps balance the overall taste and makes it very easy to drink if you like a beer with a more pronounced flavor than typical lagers but not too heavy.
