Year 2014, in a small town Oxford, Connecticut (USA), a group of beer mavericks decided to form OEC Brewing – the name stands for “Ordinem Ecentrici Coctores” (Latin for “Guild of Eccentric Brewers”). Their philosophy was clear from the start: break the mold by combining Classic European Brewing Technique with bold experiments. From the lines wild ales From naturally fermented to artistically blended versions, OEC quickly became a highlight in the craft beer community.
2015 marked a milestone when they opened tasting room first, where beer lovers can experience a taste “like no other”. In 2017, the Experimentalis line was born – experimental beers with ingredients from tea, rare fruits, even… ancient wood. And then, in 2020, OEC officially reached out to the world, bringing its beer back Europe – the cradle of traditional beer that they have always admired.

Among a series of famous creations, Hidalgo Best Bitter Ale is a special story. Launched around 2018–2019, this is a product dedicated to those who love English Bitter – a classic English beer style that is not popular in the US. OEC does not copy it, but recreates it with a new perspective: more balanced, deeper, but still retains the passionate "soul" of malt and hops. The name "Hidalgo" is a tribute to Miguel Hidalgo – Mexican national hero, metaphor for the cultural mix in every drop of beer.
Perhaps what makes OEC shine is not just the technique, but the deep spirit of rebellion. They don't make beer to follow trends - they write stories with yeast, with aroma, and with the hearts of the people. "the odd one out".
